Barry Thomas is a renowned impressionist painter based in North Little Rock, Arkansas, known for his dynamic use of light, color, and texture to capture the extraordinary beauty of nature and everyday life. A graduate of the ArtCenter College of Design in California and the University of Arkansas, Barry began his career as an acclaimed illustrator, earning recognition from the Society of Illustrators Hallmark Award. Under the mentorship of artists such as Howard Terpning and Gary Carter, he produced a style that conveys both the tangible and emotional essence of his subjects, from vivid landscapes to intimate portraits. Drawing inspiration from Russian expressionism, his dynamic brushwork and nuanced color palette depict the grace and vibrance of places and people.  His works are consistently an exploration of energy and presence. His work has been exhibited in leading galleries across the United States.

Now based in the historic Argenta Arts District, Barry continues to draw inspiration from the rich landscapes and diversity of central Arkansas. His studio, located in a restored 1915 building, serves as a sanctuary for his creative pursuits. Barry is deeply committed to his craft and community. Through his art, he  elevates the human spirit.
